golfers, the real jewel in Penang, is the 18-hole Bukit Jambul Country
Club. Once considered too far and remote when it was opened in 1984,
the airport is actually five minutes away. Now within the vacinity,
high rise apartments, houses and factories have sprung up, and the
most imposing, a par 3 away, sitting majestically on the highest peak,
is the Equatorial Hotel. The course is unequalled for its tightness

glorious and captivating views of the island from many holes.
Chiselled from 130 acres of hilly rocky jungle terrain and crags by
world renown Robert Trent Jones Jr, the course is always heavily
booked for corporate competitions as well as some of the country's
top tournaments

Set in the sparsely
populated northern shore of Langkawi, The Golf Club, Datai
Bay, is a world-class 18-hole course secluded by nature and
by design. Nestled between the dark green massif of Gunung
Machinchang and the deep blue of the Andaman Sea, The Golf
Club, Datai Bay course boasts the duality of both mountain
and coastal vistas. Reward yourself with a great round of
golf, amidst the grandeur. The Golf Club is situated within
the 8,000-acre Gunung Machinchang forest reserve. Opened in
1992, the 5,994-metre par 72 course is surrounded by a
thousand-year-old forest. The fairways are covered with
Bermuda while the impeccably-kept greens are turfed in
Tifdwarf. Although not a long course, the fairways are
narrow and there are severe hazards.
Most of the original
jungle has been left intact, and the course is built through
and around the trees. So while the trees shade the golfer
from tee to green, they can get in the way as well. The
course is very much a part of the natural landscape and
golfers will often encounter wildlife, such as deer,
hornbills and other birds, and monitor lizards.
